The Zookeeper’s Wife tells the real-life story of a working wife and mother who became a hero to hundreds during World War II. In 1939 Poland, Antonina Żabińska and her husband, Dr. Jan Żabiński, have the Warsaw Zoo flourishing. When their country is invaded, Jan and Antonina are forced to report to the Reich’s newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck. Antonina and Jan covertly work with the Resistance. Antonio will put her and her family at risk to save lives, in their Warsaw Ghetto.
